Things You Can Do Every Day to Make Your Parenting Awesome and More Engaging.
When your happy and you know it = happy kid. - Don't be tough on yourself - Give yourself time. Get as much sleep as you can. A happy mother raises a happy child.
Take some time out for you.- It is not as easy as it sounds, but make some efforts. Make a room for your hobbies, exercise, and leisure time. Always remember, where there is a will there is a way.
Spend time with your spouse. - Talk to him; make him aware of the changes you feel & how he can help you in this journey. Involve him in this entire process. Take a long drive together and spend time together every day. It'll nourish the bond between the two of you.
If it is not broken do not try to fix it. - Don't try to fix everything. Give young kids a chance to find their own solutions. When you lovingly acknowledge a child’s minor frustration without immediately rushing in to save him, you teach him self-reliance and resilience.
Schedule special magical time together. - Schedule daily special times. Read storybooks to them before going to bed. As they grow, ask them how was their day at school, what did they like about the day. You can make your daily special time for your child magical.
We are parenting together. - Encourage daddy/mommy times - It’s important for a child to spend time with dad and with mom apart. This helps them learn problem-solving skills and generally cope better with whatever life throws at them.
The differences between us just makes us better parents. - Respect Parenting differences - Your spouse & you might not be on the same page, when it comes to parenting. If you feel that they are being too lenient at times, then make them aware. Criticizing or arguing with your partner will do more harm to your marriage, parenting and your child's sense of security.
It doesn’t cost you money, so do it more. - Smile - It’s contagious and brings happiness to the world. After spending time apart, when you meet again, greet your child with a smile. When things are going not so great, breathe and try to think of something that makes you smile. It’s simple and yet so powerful.
Gal Gadot is superwomen only in the movie. - Don't try to be a supermom - Know your limits. Try and say no, when you think you are spreading yourself too thin. When you need help ask.
Dare to be ridiculous and strange. - You want your child to have courage, joy, happiness and a desire to find meaning in life? Dare to be ridiculous: dance together, laugh, laugh and laugh some more, invent, create, play, whatever it may be, step outside your comfort zone once a day. It’s worth every moment of connection and it models amazing qualities needed for success.
We are not alone. They walk among us. - Seek help – You are not alone. Take help from your mother, mother-in-law, relatives, friends. People you can trust & depend on, you can let go and just breath.
My time is my time, your time is your time. - Aim for Balance - Make time for yourself to re-energize. Our children are learning not just from what we say but so much from watching us. Striving to lead a balanced life, which includes time for ourselves really matters. When our own tanks are full, we can handle the ups and downs of parenting much better.
Your instinct are true most of the time lead with them. - Trust yourself - Have faith in yourself. No one knows your child better than you.
